Q Thai Bistro

This is one of the restaurants Jason and I have frequented a number of times since moving in. It was a bit of a sticker shock. I didn't expect to see Manhattan prices in Forest Hills.

Despite the $$, I've had pretty good meals here. The chef supposedly cooked at a hotel in Thailand, but I can't say anything I've eaten here comes close to being as good as what I've had in Thailand.

Back in August, we decided to share some appetizers and a noodle dish for dinner. For the apps, we decided to go with the seared tuna, dumplings, salmon tartar and soup. The tuna and salmon were favorites and I was sad to see on my last visit to Q about a month ago, the salmon tartar was taken off the menu.

After all that, I made room for dessert. I can't recall exactly what I had, but I'm pretty sure it was some kind of mango ice cream dessert. I have a soft spot for mango ice cream.

I'm not sure if the quality justifies the prices they charge, but the place has a cool vibe and atmosphere. There aren't many places in Forest Hills that are like that.
