Nobu, Las Vegas

Jason and I had a great meal at Nobu Next Door in NYC which is supposed to have the same menu as Nobu. So, we wanted to see how different the Nobu in Vegas was going to be.

The waiter told us the food is Peruvian-Japanese fusion. Jason and I thought that combo was pretty interesting. We've never heard it before. In any event, we decided if we really wanted to try this place out, we should go all out and order the most expensive omakase.

Feast your eyes on this!

Izumi Dai (Imported Japanese Red Snapper) with Pickled Vegetables

Sweet Fish with Spicy Sauce (on the left)
Abalone with Golden Caviar (in the center)
Kanpache with Las Vegas Salsa and Seaweed (on the right)

Otoro (belly from the fattest tuna) on top of White Asparagus
with Fried Garlic and Scallions
To the side, two different types of peaches.

Wild Sockeye Salmon with Rolled Daikon in the middle
Micro Greens with Jalapeno Dressing

Vegetable Roll with Tuna

Some Kind of Granita

Peppered Sea Bass with Truffles
and Shitake Mushroom Truffle Sauce

Kobe Beef Imported from Japan (rated on a scale of 11 out of 12) with Sweet Potato Tempura

Clear Soup with Wakame clam

Sushi: Wild Tuna, Live Scallop, Something with Kelp, Toro,
Sweet Shrimp, Selection of Tuna and Salmon Roll

Green Tea Ice Cream on Top of Chocolate Cocoa Crunch
with an Orange and Cream Foam

We paired all this food with a selection of sake and our favorite was the YK30. We preferred it much better than the more expensive YK50.
